I was in Vegas last month a saw the Venetian. Don't believe what they tell you--the hotel is not finished yet. They are still painting sone of both the interior and exterior walls and many of the stores inside are not open yet. Try the Bellagio--beautiful and with a great pool.

We stayed at the Venetian in July. The rooms were nice, but I don't know that I'd stay there again. The hotel lobby was so crowded and there was no air-conditioning in the elevators or hallways. The crowds were so annoying-we had to stand in line for an hour and a half to check in. However, the hotel is beautiful and the restaurants were excellent.

I returned last night from a stay at the Venetian. Very nice hotel. I had no problem checking in. The rooms are great - very spacious and well-appointed. While there is still some work being done in some areas, this never interfered with my stay. The lobby is pretty amazing, as well as the Grand Canal Shoppes. Very good restaurants also. I also found the employees to be polite and accomodating. The only negative comment I have about the hotel is the pool area. I admit that I was expecting a lot given the attention to detail that was paid to the rest of the hotel - but I was disappointed in the pool. The pool itself is rather large but it is not well lanscaped. It does not compare to the pool at Caeaser's or Mirage (or even to the pool at the Flamingo). It almost seems that they added the pool as an afterthought. But, given all of the positive things about the hotel, I would not hesitate to stay there again (and am hoping that my play warrants some future casino rates there).

Highly unlikely that your casino play will earn you anything. The Venetian just went through a huge fiasco (what else would be expected with this place) where the hotel sent out thousands of comps...only to deny ALL of them. People were checking in and handed letters stating that the hotel no longer honored any comps and that their stay would cost the standard room rate. In addition, there is no casino host and it doesn't look like there will be one in the near future...because the one they had, quit after the hotel perpetrated this fraud. The Venetian is in a catagory unto itself when it comes to hospitality and business. AVOID if possible. <BR>

Sorry to hear that you had problems there. I didn't experience problems at all. I checked in under a casino rate and had no problem whatsoever. Additionally, there is a casino host and, upon checkout, he took off some of the food expenses that I had charged to the room. So, it seems that whatever problems that they had are being worked out.
