Vegas-When to book Hotel?

Hubby and I are going to Vegas for our 25th wedding anniversary in January.

How soon should I book a hotel room? I've been watching TravelZoo waiting on a good rate at a nice hotel. The best I've seen so far is The Wynn for $159 per night. Should I go ahead and book this, or wait until a better deal becomes available?

This is our first trip to Vegas and I want a hotel that is centrally located. The Wynn seems to fit the bill, but I'm open to a lesser expensive hotel too.

Thoughts? Comments?

Thanks in advance!

That's an excellent rate for the Wynn and it's now considered the best hotel on the strip. Book it now if it's cancellable and get on the mailing list for the Wynn and the Venetain to see if anything better comes along. As mentioned prior, one can often snag the Venetain for $119/nt on Priceline. My advice would be to book a cancellabe back up and keep searching for good deals. Good luck:)

To me, the price sounds great for the Wynn. Did you also check the Wynn's website, and call the hotel directly?

Thanks for the fast replies!

This rate is from SmartVegas.com which links to the Wynn's web site.

Excellent rate for the Wynn in January..book it!!!
Have a great 25th anniversary and you are going to love the Wynn..
Restaurants are outstanding and we like Daniel Boulud's..water show is incredible.
It doesn't get any better than the Wynn!

I had a great rate for Ventian - when are you going in January? I think that you have to be "rated" but am not sure - you should try and call their casino marketing desk - they will often have rates that are not published.

Thanks so much! Yes, I booked and can cancel up to two days prior.

I also posted questions regarding LOVE show (think I may need to change my tickets) and Grand Canyon day trip.

If you have any info to pass along regarding those questions, I would appreciate it.

Thanks again!

dh and I saw Love last year. We are one of the few that did not "love" it. I think it had to do with seeing the late show on the day we arrived after having a busy day.

I did not personally see a bad seat in the house (seriously). Our seats were great - I apologize for not knowing "where" they were!

I would also keep any eye on TravelTeeth.com

It seems to have some decent Vegas hotel deals nearly every week.
