Vegas w/ 8 month old

I will in Vegas for training and will be taking my 8 motnh old and my husband. Any suggestions on things to do with an 8 month old.

Vegas is stroller and kid unfriendly but there are a few things you can do (bring umbrella stroller as strollers are not allowed in quite a few places).

I suggest the lights of Freemont Street and the Fountains at the Bellagio.

Oh goodness, I see bad posts coming. Put your armor on, ccalhoon.

8 months old pretty much like to do the same things in Vegas that they do at home. Eat, interact with mom and dad take a nap. If you are there when it is hot, the baby may be uncomfortable so watch for heat rash. If you get those waterproof swimmies you may be able to take the baby into the pool but I suppose it will depend on the hotel’s policy about whether children who are not potty trained are allowed in the pool.

There is no state health dept.
that allows babies
(or children not toilet trained)
in public pools.

Play blackjack, go to strip clubs, white water raft through the Grand Canyon, ride the roller coaster at NYNY, see a Cirque show, Freemont Street Experience, go for a tour of the Hoover Dam, etc. There's so much to do!

Shoon, are you referring to all states or specifically that there is a state law in Nevada that disallows swim diapers in pools?

If you are saying that no states allow non-toilet trained children in pools with swim diapers then you could not be more wrong. There is no state law in that I'm aware of that disallows babies in pools. Could you please cite the law you are claiming exists?

If you go to resorts and waterparks there are signs everywhere stating that non-toilet trained children MUST wear swimdiapers in the pools, but they are most certainly are allowed in them.

Loki, you haven't explained there are no children discounts on blackjack tokens. And the baby will be waaaayyyy to young to strip.

Well If he's still nursing, you can bet the kid would get very hungry in a Vegas strip club!

Seriously, Is Wet n Wild still in Vegas? That would be fun if its hot.

Child might also enjoy watching all the things going on in the courtyard of the Venetian or riding their gondolas if there is no age limit.

We once took a toddler to Vegas when I tagged along on Dh's business trip. She mostly enjoyed the things all babies do....being with parents and people watching from her stroller.

Only bad part is that we had to take turns in the casinos, since kids aren't allowed, and we weren't into using hotel babysitters.

I've only heard of one pool not allowing unpotty-trained kids - the Venetian Pool in Coral Gables Florida - is schoong from Coral Gables?

I'm going to try to be helpful:

These may be geared to children older than your 8 month old, but you can check. Also the Lied Children's Museum may have fun stuff for your little one to look at.
