vegas temp in dec/jan

We are from the united kingdom and are thinking about Vegas for 12/26-01/02.
What will the weather be like. There is no pint in us going if it isn't warm & sunny as we can go places nearer to home in Europe for sunshine that time of year

regards

Chris

Since Las Vegas is in the desert, it can actually get pretty cold in the winter months. I was there last January. While it was sunny, it was a little on the chilly side. Las Vegas does get an occasional snow flurry as well, but not that often.

I don't think you can really look at Vegas strictly for it's weather. If that were the case, few people would go there in the middle of summer when it's boiling hot.

Go and enjoy the city for all of the fun it has to offer and don't worry about the weather. The city's a blast to visit. And by going in the winter you get to take advantage of great rates and small crowds.

Christopher,

My husband and I just returned from Vegas 3 days ago. They were having a cold snap while we were there and I'm sorry to report that temps were in the mid 50's during the day, and down to the mid to upper 30's at night. Quite cool, definately jacket weather. It was mainly sunny, however. I just checked accuweather.com for the 'normal' temp in Vegas on your dates. Normal high is around 56, normal low is 32.

Hope this helps!
Cammie

Do not visit LV around New Year's if you're going for the weather. The odds are against warm weather. It's very cool in the evenings (30's) and typically 50's during the day.

If you plan on going to Vegas over those dates, you better check into hotel booking availability. The city usually is fully booked on NYE. This year might be different, but still tough to find a room.

if you want warm pool weather, i'd wait until march, april or may. also, as stated, it will be very busy over the holidays and the hotels will be at prime rates. if you plan to go at a later date, remember that hotels are much cheaper sunday-thursday nights. great place to go - unique and fun.

It will be cold during that time, with lows in the 30s or maybe even 20s. I have been there for New Year's a few times and once it actually snowed. I personally really like Vegas in December because it is less crowded and a lot cheaper.
