Vegas Sunday Brunch Post Marathon?
Any ideas for a post Marathon brunch in Vegas this Sunday?
Can be buffett or non buffet, price not important. |
Be a little naughty and go to Bally's Sterling Buffet. I did this many many years ago when the price was about $25pp...it is now $60++. Drink champagne and eat lobster.
Here's some reviews I found...I'm sure you'll find many more when you begin googling. http://www.ratelasvegas.com/buffets/ratings/b65.html |

The Wynn has one of the best buffett's out there..
Bouchon at the Venetian has an excellent breakfast too.. Have fun GoT! |
THAT looks fabulous!
I've just sent the link out to our crowd. When did Vegas get so expensive? $80 for a limo from the airport. $80 for a limo to the start of the race. $125 pp++ dinner on Friday night at Cafe Martorano. $200+ off strip Westin hotel. When did it get so expensive? |
Splurge and go to the Four Seasons. You'll deserve it.

The Sunday brunch at the Aladdin is awesome, and I think we paid $25/person or so. It was great food and unlimited champagne. Very worth it.

icee, it looks like the Sterling Brunch gets a big yes vote from our group!
|
or . . .
maintain all the comforts of home at Louis's Las Vegas! Seriously, I hope you have a great race Sunday. Say hi to Elvis for me. |
Ditto on Bally's.
|
My vote is for the Bally's buffet - it really is excellent!

Have a VERY good run, GoT! If it were me, I'd splurge at any place in the Bellagio, preferably the buffet. I have never been to Bally's, but that looks fabulous too! Do you have time to scope out the floor plans of the buffets at least a day in advance? IMHO, I'd want a buffet that's not sprawled all over the room (like the one at the Mirage). After 26 miles, all I want to do is shuffle!
How far is the Westin from all this? The next thing I want to do after the eating, is take a looong nap! |
I'm not sure Melissa.
Now brunch is up in the air. Ugh! This is turning into a PIA. Don't know how long the after race party will last. We'll all be sore and it will still be early because the race starts at 6AM. What will probably end up happening is we'll all get drunk after the race and be plastered by noon (after race areas usually serve beer). We'll be passed out cold by 2PM and then wake up at 8PM raring to go and starving. |
sterling brunch gets my vote
|
Oh, my! Actually at the HNL Marathon, there's no beer at the finish area. There IS beer along Kahala Avenue as you are running, but that's it!
I looked again at the Sterling Brunch site. The last seating is at 1:30 p.m. Assuming you finish by 11 a.m., would you get cleaned up before going to brunch? (I would, esp. because I'm covered in salt.) You'd have to leave the finish area immediately, shower, then run over to Bally's for brunch to make the last seating. Just playing devil's advocate here as far as timing goes. I know other buffets go constantly and simply turn the servings from brunch to dinner. p.s. Don't forget to get some carbs into you within 60 minutes of finishing! |
Okay, here is what happened.
You know the expression trying to herd cats? Exactly. We ended up at Spago for brunch and were all there and cleaned up by 1PM. Had a fabulous brunch. Caesars Palace is so massive it is scary. Spago was excellent. |
Glad it worked out, GoT....and congratulations on the race!

If you want to save a little money and are very hungry, I think the Rio Buffet looks like someone took the worlds largest mall food court and just openned it up for grabs....Pizza, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Barbecue --- you name it --they got it. I think it is also under $25. /person. oh - I see I am a little late -- Congrats on Spago.
