Vegas Shows Tips
 

Heading out to Vegas over Labor Day and plan to see a few shows. The last time we were there we saw Blue Man (Great), Mama Mia (Fantastic), O (Awesome) and Zumanity (Poor). So far, we have booked tickets for Le Reve.

Other shows that we are considering are Love, Tony & Tina's Wedding, Price is Right and the Fab Four.

Specific questions that I have are:
1) Is Love good? Compared to Mystere?
2) What about Tony & Tina? Looking for something different and this seems to fit the bill. 3) What is Price is Right like? Is it a good was to spend the afternoon? 4) Will a non-Beatle fan enjoy Fab 4?

All Vegas show tips on any show would be very helpful.

Everyone on this site is very helpful. I'd really appreciate your input and will be happy to post a trip report to share my experience with other travelers.

I saw Love last week and I would not recommend it. Comparing it to the other Cirque shows you saw, it is VERY different...mostly in the manner that it is almost entirely dance-based instead of acrobatics and tricks, etc. If you are expecting to amazed like "O" (my friends remarked it was the coolest thing they had ever seen) I think you would be disappointed w/ Love. There were parts when I was actually quite bored. It wasn't a terrible show, and parts were kind of cool, but as a whole, not worth the $ in my opinion. If I wanted to watch people dance around to Beatles music I'd put on the CD and throw a party in my living room LOL :)

Can't comment on the others, but heard Le Reve is good. Maybe try Ka at MGM? Or Phantom at the Venetian?

Fab 4 is an excellent show. For everybody, not just Beatle fans.

They used to come to the LV Hilton all the time but now Barry is hogging up the stage there. I believe the Fab 4 comes to the Aladin now.

Ditto everything shortcake said about Love. I have been to 4 other Cirq shows (not Vegas ones) and loved them all. Love itself was a waste of money to me - agreed if I wanted to dance around to Beatles music I could do it at home for free!

Haven't seen the other shows so I can't say.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian, which is supposed to have the mother of all chandelier scenes

Eight of us go to Vegas every year, and I am usually in charge of getting the show tickets. We were there just last week, and saw "Ka" this time. Everyone loved it.

I booked "Tony & TIna's Wedding" a couple of years ago, and I still haven't lived it down. It was the worst, and everyone still gives me a hard time about it.

BYW, we stayed at The Wynn this time (where Le Reve is), and it was beautiful.

Tony and Tina's Wedding is a sort of "audience participation" experience where everything is based on the epitome of bad taste. If you go with a group and you're half drunk when you get there and you enjoy making fools of yourself and laughing at others being fools, then you might have fun. Otherwise, I have no idea what the attraction is.
