Vegas Shows

My husband and I are heading to Vegas mid-March for eight days. We are staying at TI. My question is this ... should we buy tickets to shows that we really want to see (i.e. "O", Celine Dion, Mystere, Blue Man Group) now or would it be better to wait until we're actually there? We are afraid if we wait, the shows will be sold out. Also, we'll be there during Spring Break, so the demand for shows may be higher than average. Any thoughts? or any tips / recommendations for shows that you may have already seen? I am impressed with the forum here, and am anxious to receive some advice. Thanks in advance.

Yes, I have a thought. The shows will be sold out. I recommend buying at least your top two. After that you can, if you're not too selective about seeing your A list shows, go to the half price desk at the Coke bottle and get what you can. If you truely can't miss these four you truely should attempt to get them in advance (you understand you're talking about close to $1000, right?

Some will differ on show opinions, but I would do O and save Mystere for another trip because IMO O is the better of the two. I love Blue Man Group. Celine was a great concert, but not a great stage show. I would have felt I got a good concert value for about half of what it costs.

You need to check seats right now, as in today. At least a couple of those on your list could well already be sold out, and will absolutely be sold out before you arrive in LV.

Thanks bunches for the advice. I was able to book four seats for "O" on the first Saturday night of our stay. They were down to the last four seats in the upper orchestra. I'm looking forward to that. I decided against Celine, as they only had upper balcony seats left, and I figured that we'd end up watching the show on the large screen. I heard that you can go to the box office the day of a show at 5:00 PM and they sell cancelled tickets for her show then. Does anyone know if this is true? I also heard that Carrot Top will be at the MGM during my stay. Does anyone know if I'd need to book these ahead of time? I know he plays Vegas often, so I'm not sure if I need to go ahead and get these now or not.

Glad you booked "O" now. We can never get tickets for that show. Mystere is another one to book in advance. This is an excellent show. Sells out pretty fast too. To be honest, I didn't care for Blue Man Group. A lot of people like this show. Didn't impress me at all.

Have fun!!

I would agree that for the top shows you must book ahead or you may well not get to see them. I have seen both "O" and Mystere and liked them both. With 8 days in Vegas and,if your budget will allow, and if seats are still available, I would see Mystere also. "O" is beautifully done and Mystere is great fun.It is Worth seeing both if you can. Mystere is my personal favorite of the two.
