Vegas shopping advice?!
 

Hi everyone,

Some girlfriends and I are taking a trip to Vegas for a bachelorette party in April. I know there's awesome shopping, but I've never been to Vegas so I need some help.
I'm REALLY into fashion and can't wait to see the designer shops — even if it's just window shopping. Where's the first place a fashionista like me should head and what are some other places you'd recommend?

The Forum Shops at Ceasar's Palace will bring out the diva shopper in all of you. So many stores, very upscale, and so much to look at. Allow time or plan to go back again - the shopping area is big.

All of the hotels have some shopping, but this is the best by far.

I agree, Jaya. The Forum shops are cool....I love that they have unusual stores like Miss Sixty. They also have the only? circular escalator in the world....at least that's what I read. The shops at the Venetian were nice as well.

Isn't there a circular escalator in San Francisco, been there at least 10 years at Nordstrom

There is a new, massive 3 story circular escalator at the Forum Shops. It's quite amazing to ride it.

hehehehe, I must have fallen prey to clever marketing....I KNOW I read that it was unique and the only circular elevator in the world but I just did a search and unconfirmed, it appears to me that there is at least one in Japan or elsewhere in Asia as well. I don't know about the one in San Francisco. Here is a picture of the one in Vegas though, it is very cool to see and ride:

Forum Shops sound awesome! What have you guys heard/experienced about Wynn? Has anyone been to the new Palazzo shops?

The lobby of the Wynn is gorgeous. I don't remember if I went to the shops there.

When in Vegas, it's custom to go to each of the big hotels on the strip and check them out. The Bellagio is also beautiful and has some high end shopping, but not too many stores there.

If you all go out for a walking tour, leave your heels in your hotel room. You MUST have good walking shoes with you. The hotels are huge and require a lot of walking.

Hmmmm....looks like my first post didn't take...anyway, don't waste time at the Fashion Show Mall..JMHO, it's nothing very "special". There are enough stores at Ceasars to keep you busy. Also, Barneys is open now. I missed it last time I was there, it was just a couple weeks shy of being open. It's between The Venetian and Wynn.

I always did very well in the shoe store in the Bellagio as well as Hermes :- )
Of course, that was after the Yankee did very well at the tables.

I always thought the shopping in the Venetian and Caesars was enough.. so many shops and so many places to stop and drink/eat/re-energize and shop some more ~
I used to go to Sephora at the Venetian, I loved shopping in a tiny shop that sold Venetian glass jewelry and house thingees.. but shoes and handbags and jewelry were really want I did well on ..

Your post is very timely- my daughter and I just returned from Las Vegas yesterday. The trip was her 21st birthday present and our focus was on shopping!

As others have mentioned, the Forum shops are wonderful- almost every designer (Dior, Fendi, Cartier, Louis Vuitton, D&G, etc) can be found there as well as some more reasonable priced stores (Guess, Juicy). Spago is nice for lunch and people watching. You could spend an entire day there (we did).

Venetian is nice but not particularly remarkable. We did not even go there this visit.

We did go to Barney's which was nice.

The Wynn and the Palazzo have great stores. All of the Wynn is just lovely- spectacular without being over the top ornate or tacky. We had a wonderful dinner there and saw Le Reve which was awesome; my daughter thoroughly enjoyed it. There is a wonderful little bar called Parasol Down overlooking the waterfall. It's a nice spot in the evening for a drink.

The stores at Wynn's Esplanade include Dior, Chanel, Oscar de la Renta, Jo Malone and Manolo (she had great fun trying on shoes there!) Connected to the Wynn is the Encore which is also very lovely. I think the stores were at the other end of Wynn. There she got jeans and top at Rock and Republic and I got a scarf at Hermes.

We did go to Fashion Show Mall (which is just a mall) because she wanted to go to Quicksilver and I wanted to go to Neiman and Nordstrom. It's connected by walkway to Wynn so very convenient.

We didn't go this trip but Bellagio also has a number of designer stores and it's a beautiful hotel to walk through.

Overall, we most enjoyed looking at Wynn and Encore but bought more at Forum shops.

I'm not even a good shopper, but I'm a window-shopper extraordinaire, and I have to agree that just wandering through the Forum Shops is fabulous!

And yes, there is a circular escalator (when built, I believe it was the first of its kind) in San Francisco - at the Westfield Mall (San Francisco Centre).

OMG, I cannot wait for this trip! You guys are getting me even more excited. I'm SO looking forward to finally seeing some of these stores in person and just be able to say I've experienced the shopping in Vegas.
