Vegas Questions

Folks, planning to goto Las Vegas from Toronto for about 7 days. Any suggestions as to where to find the best deals. Is it usually for canadians to purchase air/hotel package or air and find our own hotel. Would like to stay in the strip.

Another question is if its safe to bring laptop and palm pilots to the hotels. Planning to leave the laptop in the hotel during the day.

Thanks

Alan

Someone here always mentions this, so I'll say it this time. Try www.lvol.com and go to the discussion board there. Someone will know the answer to everything! Lots of Canadians on the board there, too. If you have trouble finding it, ask again here...You'll have a great time there...
Go to a news stand and pick up a copy of the Sunday Los Angeles Times. In the Calendar section they have a large advertising section on Las Vegas. Many really good deals to entice Los Angelenos to go to Vegas. They are the biggest tourist group in Vegas, due to the proximity, so they advertise really good deals.

Even better... go to LA times online at www.latimes.com/travel. That's how my wife and I scout out rates at different hotels and airlines. Very helpful site, even if you don't book through them.

The best site for the lowest prices on Las Vegas Hotels is www.lvrs.com. I have used them several times, and they have been great. They offer prices on many of the 'strip' hotels that NO ONE can come near. None of the major strip hotels take the discount travel programs(ie: Entertainment), so forget about that route. And if you are think a non- casino hotel/motel might offer lower rates, think again; there rates are the same and many times MORE than at a casino hotel( no renvenue from gambling) If you are going for 7 days, by all means split up your vacation and visit one or more of the following; Grand Canyon, Lake Mead,Zion National Park. Just remember, this countries two largest conventions are coming up in LV; The COMDEX computer show starting 11/15, and the CES Electronics Show starting Jan 6. Good Luck with your vacation plans!

I would go to a Travel Search Engine and look for as much info on Vegas as I could find. The web is full of great deals on Vegas.

As far as a laptop in Vegas. As with any Hotel, always watch your valuables. Most of the Hotels have a safe in each room, you might want to put your laptop in it. You don't want it wandering away.

if you need any more help, drop me a line. I'd be happy to give you some advice, I used to live there and I now visit there.

Jim McIntosh;Webmaster/HereHuGo.com
The Travel Search Engine
