Vegas - Paris Hotel & Restaurant
 

Can anyone tell me about the food in this restaurant? My husband and I and our 3 1/2 yr. old will be eating there the week of 8/19 and would like first hand knowledge. Thanks.

Which restaurant in the Paris Hotel are your inquiring about? There are several, including Mon Ami Gabi, The Village Buffet, The Eiffel Tower Restaurant, The Cafe and others.

Mon Ami Gabi is one of my favorite restaurants for a nice dinner in Vegas. I go to Vegas for a conference each year and everyone I travel with loves the dinner and the view. Not necessarily a place for a 3 yr old, but if they are well behaved, quiet and amuse themselved, it should be fine. My husband and I and then 11 year old had Christmas Dinner there one year. MAKE RESERVATIONS.

We stood in line for a very very long time for the Village Buffet and did not like it. There are many other buffets in Vegas that I feel are better than this one.

I haven't tried the other places.

I enjoyed a nice dinner ay Mon Ami Gabi with my daughter, who was then 19. I'd call the place classy casual and I recall seing families with children there.

Sorry Fodorites - I should have been clearer. I too ate at Mon Ami on my third visit to Vegas. This time I'm opting for the Effiel Tower Restaurant up top! I figured it would be exciting for my daughter to see the Bellagio waters from up top! Sort of a splurge for the whole family too.

I have eaten at the Eiffel Tower restaurant and thouroughly enjoyed it. We did not have a view of the fountains from our table. IMHO it is no place for toddlers. People are paying a premium price for french dining at this restaurant. I would not be happy to dine next to a 3.5 year old at these prices.

Perhaps you could take your child to the top of the tower to view the fountains?

This question of where is appropriate for a toddler has been done to death on this board, I know, but here's yet another two cents on it:

Restaurants have a different "mix" of diners at different hours. If you dine with a toddler early--no later than 7, say--I imagine it would be more tolerable to fellow diners than to do so at 9 or 10. If I'm wrong about this, I'm sure many will step up to say so!

Anyway, the fountains won't look so hot before dark, so maybe the OP isn't with me on this...

On the website, it says the restaurant has the view of the fountains, I would think from each table!

I will be in Vegas later this month, so may or may not eat there. But if I'd expect the views of the fountain, and won't get any, this would be a great disappointment!!

Buff, maybe check out Trip Advisor, if any reviews are posted there.

I know, Stratosphere has (had??) a revolving restaurant, maybe this will be a substitute if a fountain view is not guaranteed in Paris.

The view of the fountains really depends on your table. Make reservation in advance for a fountain view. There is outdoor dining with a great view of the fountains, but the strip is out there as well. So it could be loud

Keep this night for the hubby if you can.

Take your child to the Shark Reef at the Mandalay Bay, the zoo/dolphis at the Mirage and the M&M factory.

Hot Dogs at Nathans over at NYNY, pretzels....Arcades at NYNY and Excalibur. Head over to Circus Circus.

But reserve Mon Ami Gabi for a romantic dinner.

I just tried to reserve a table at the Eiffel Tower restaurant, but they would not guarantee a view of the fountains. Any tips on how to do this???

The Eiffel Tower restaurant (which is not at the top but part way up) does not have a view of the fountains from every table, but from many tables. And, you cannot hear the music from there. It's also a bit formal and quiet. I totally agree that it would be inconsiderate to go there with a small child.

Mon Ami Gabi, on the other hand, is very lively (and also very loud), but it's nearly impossible to get a table on the terrace.

There's a fantastic view of the fountains from the top of the Eiffel Tower, but only a few standing spots with the "best" views, which are always occupied for several viewings, with a flock of folks prepared to rush to them as people leave. A small child would be lost among legs up there. You'd probably have to carry her the entire time.

Also at Paris, there's a lovely outdoor sidewalk cafe with views of the fountains. But, as mentioned, Las Vegas Boulevard is in between, and can be very loud depending on traffic.

The best place for taking a child to view the fountains would be the sidewalks right in front of them or one of the casual restaurants with outdoor seating overlooking the lake at the Bellagio.
