Vegas Nightlife

My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to Vegas in November for 3 nights. We are trying to find out the best hot spots for drinks and dancing! We would like to stay right on the strip, planning on staying at Ceasars. Just want to know which places are worth trying and which are not worth the time and money. We are going to celebrate her 40th and looking to have a great time!!! Anyone with any suggestions thank you so much!!!

The new Cosmopolitan is really hip, I recommend seeing it at the very least. It is a younger crowd 20-40's and the place is brand new, go all the way up to the pool level for the views. There is no shortage of places to dance starting with Pure at Ceasars,

I'm not up on all the Vegas hot spots as they change constantly, however, many of the places listed you will feel old, because you will be old.
I would check one of the Vegas sites which may give you a better idea of the clientele. In addition, many joints have outlandish covers so unless you know someone or go early, you'll spend a ton of $$, just getting in the door - after a lengthy wait. I would talk to your concierge, they won't steer you wrong. I've waited, coughed up $25 to get in a place & once we got in, the place was practically empty.
If it were me, my $$ would better spent on a top shelf dinner & show.

Agree that many of the places listed are really for the 30 and under group. We went to a couple with a group of clients (mixed ages 20s to 50s) and it was very difficult finding a place everyone liked - and felt comfortable.

And given the prices I would be sure of the details before you go. (We went to one place - not sure if it's still there - that was laughable to those in the 40's/50s - little kids who thought they were SO cool - and were SO clownish.)

If you want 40's & 50's, I would recommend 3 places:

Voodoo Lounge at the Rio, definitely an older crowd
Studio 54 at MGM, older night club but definitely has diverse group of customers of all ages (make sure it isn't a specialty night like "industry night" etc.)
Also Blush at Wynn has a good diverse crowd with plenty of people in their 50's

In terms of the high door prices, one way around that is to tip your doorman and get around the wait and the expensive cover, this works well for bigger groups (tip $50 to bypass line and cover, if you have 5 people, it's $10 each).

Just an FYI...you won't gain access to the pool levels at the Cosmopolitan without showing a room key.
