Vegas in November

Does anyone know why it is so expensive in Vegas in Nov.? I'm trying to book a 3 nt. trip for my b'day but I can't believe the prices I'm getting. I have been to Vegas 3 other times once in 11/2001 once in Feb2003and once in June 2002nd never paid this much.

You still may be booking too far ahead and November is still a big conference month for Vegas.

When in November? Largest convention for Las Vegas is the week before Thanksgiving. Average attendance is 250,000. Hotel rates skyrocket at that time. Name of convention is Comdex...all the computer nerds know about this one!

The first week of November is the SEMA Show ("Specialty Equipment Manufacturer's Association)at the Las Vegas Convention Centre and other venues.

I believe this may be their second biggest convention. The place will be full of after-market car accessories manufacturers and other such types. We have attended this previously and will be in Las Vegas for it again this year. We booked the MGM Grand back in February for our November week. It wasn't cheap ... and we're Canadian ... double ouch!

Reasons for cheap places in Vegas

June - it is hot - no conventions there fore cheap
November 2001 - right after 9/11
February - dead period between Super Bowl and March Madness

Comdex, the largest convention held in Vegas, is from November 17th to the 20th
We got a good deal on the Golden Nugget through AAA for 20th thru the 23rd.
