Vegas in February help!

I turn 21 in early feb. and am planning on heading to vegas with my lady friend from the 15th to the 17th. I just received a rather large christmas bonus and am looking to blow it all rather irresponsibly; so room cost is not a factor. After reading hotel reviews on travelocity I was leaning towards the venetian or mirage...but the cheapovegas.com reviews made me think about differently because the previously mentioned places seemed too high-class for us youngens just looking for a good time. Anybody have some suggestions for the best place that would suit our needs?... good drink service is a must as i am looking forward to getting very thoroughly snockered. Staying in one hotel for luxorious rooms and good service but gambling somewhere else is not out of the question. thanks!

Scott,
You younger types will probably have more fun at the Hard Rock or Mandalay Bay. The Hard Rock is definately geared towards the hipsters from LA and is quite the scene on Friday and Saturday night.

The Rio might be a good choice as well. The Vodoo lounge draws a party crowd.

If you want to spend a lot of money check Bellagio. It's 'Sopranos' classy in an old-fashioned seventies style; Hair-dos, blazers, lounge muzak.
The hippest palce with a music selection is Mandaly Bay, but it is at the end of the Strip.
The Venice and Paris theme hotels are nice and central.
But no hotel in Vegas is high-class, but if it's a concern you can get real good deals Downtown.

Mandalay Bay - very cool restaurants and bars.

For price/drinking/gambling/fun look no further than the Golden Nugget downtown. They have great deals because it's away from the strip but it's also the most luxurious hotel there. If you likke the Mirage, you'll like the Nugget because the rooms are identical. It's also right next door to Binion's Horseshoe, the best place to gamble in Vegas (IMHO). Not to mention the Fremont Street Experience which I thought was awesome. You can catch a free shuttle to the strip from Fremont as well.

If you are set on staying on the strip, I wouldn't recommend the Rio because it's too far off the strip & you'd be kind of isolated.

The Mandalay Bay is awesome & even though it is at one end, you can catch a Monorail to Excalibur, then cross the street to NY NY which has Coyote Ugly, or check out the MGM which has Studio 54.

The Venetian, Bellagio, Paris, those theme hotels were a little hoity-toity & the shops were very expensive.

Mandalay Bay is the best combo of room luxury, cool nightspots, nice casino AND relatively young crowd (so they won't discriminate against you).

Hard Rock's casino may well appeal to you the most, and Rio's is right up there as well (and VooDoo lounge is a good recommendation).

You might want to try the newest hotel in town, called The Palms. It markets itself toward the L.A. Cool Crowd. They have several good restaurants and a very cool bar on the 55th floor called the Ghost Bar. The also have a nightclub called Rain.

The Hard Rock is also a good choice, especially if you are interested in seeing a concert. The Joint at the Hard Rock puts on some very good shows, and their night club Baby's is a lot of fun.

Mandalay Bay is a good choice for an overall entertainment venue. There are more restaurants than you can shake a stick at, and they have the House of Blues which puts on some very good concerts.

If you are really into drinking and gambling, try staying downtown, where you can stumble from casino to casino without walking very far. Have fun!
