Vegas Hotels - Extra Person Charge

How strict are the hotels in Vegas about extra person charges. I am taking my two children to Vegas this summer, and being budget minded, the extra person charge adds quite alot to the charge of the trip.

Thanks

We stayed at Mandalay Bay two years ago and when we "attempted" to take our kids to the pool, we were told we had to have keys for everyone to enter - even the kids. We went to the front desk to get the "extra" keys and were promptly charged $35.00 per child, per night for having them in our room. It was a pretty expensive trip to the pool. We had no idea that we would incur extra charges for children.

Very strict.

If you don't show off all the people in your party to the reception clerk during check-in, you'll be just fine saying there is only one person in the room. As far as swimming pool concerns, you can either don't go there at all, or take turns.

Lots of the hotels in Vegas allow the kids to stay for free in the parents' room. Check out Excalibur and Circus Circus since they are the more family-oriented hotels.

I can't speak for every hotel. I would go to the hotel website or a travel book and they'll tell you what ages of children are free. Circus Circus and Excaliber are a dump.
