Vegas hotels

My Fiance and I are getting married in Las Vegas this summer and would like some feedback on where to stay. We have narrowed it down to the MGM Grand or The Venetian. Thanks in advance.

Brian -

Venetian hands-down. Much too many kids at MGM and it's just not new and fresh like Venetian. The shopping arcade along the Canal is great. Lots of eating options. I've tried Pinot Brasserie which was great and the Grand Lux Cafe was pretty good too. Haven't any other restaurants there yet but I'm sure all or most are good.

Very nice hotel. Much nicer casino decor than Bellagio in my opinion. Bellagio fountains and buffet are great but the rest of the places is way over-hyped. We had dinner at Olives once and it cost $100 and we felt like we were eating at TGIF.

Especially if you are getting married, Venetian all the way.

:-)

I agree with the Venetian over the MGM (although I've stayed at the MGM several times and enjoyed it). However, I think the Bellagio is the classiest place in LV by far...and that includes the Venetian. I've stayed at the Bellagio but not at the Venetian, so that may account for my bias. While I too feel that most of the apparently outstanding restaurants there are too pricey, I'm completely blown away by Chihuly's glass flowers on the ceiling, the fantastic atrium and the amazing art gallery. If you don't stay at the Bellagio, be sure to visit there and look at all this. Schedule several night sessions at the fountains out front; every 15 minutes and very romantic. You'll love it all.
Sorry, but I think Chihuly's glass "sculpture" on the ceiling is one big laughable eyesore! I can't believe someone was actually PAID to create this abysmal mess!!

I agree that Venetian wins hands down against MGM. Further, I agree with everything Judy said regarding Bellagio (and I think the glass flowers are very cool).

Yes!

The glass flowers are cool. I like them as well. However, I still wouldn't stay here.

Go to the Venetian!

:-)

The Venetian's rooms are much nicer but pricier. I do agree that the Venetian is more romantic than the MGM, which is just too large for its own good.
