VEGAS HOTELS
 

I have found the following rates and hotels for my stay in Vegas next April: Bellagio (lakeview room $199), the Flamingo ($70), Harrahs ($105), Treasure Island (tower deluxe $95 or petite suite $120), Bally's ($80), Paris ($150) and the Venetian (suite with view $279). Any suggestions or recommendations on what is a good deal or what might be my best choice?

What's your budget?<BR>If you're considering Bellagio (I assume you are since you listed it), that will be your best choice for overall LV experience.<BR>Venetian has slightly bigger rooms but worse service, worse casino, worse amenities (and costs more, apparently, for your dates).<BR>For the $50 difference Bellagio over Paris.<BR>If you're trying to cut costs Bally's is the best deal you found.<BR>Many people say 'what's the differecne where you stay, you're not in your room anyway'. I always find I'm in and out of the room more than I anticipate, and I love Bellagio. But don't stay there if cost will eat you up.

Flamingo and Ballys are comparable so if you're going for cheap rate, go for Flamingo. The petite suite at Treasure Island is probably the best overall value as it is a really nice room considering the price you're getting for it. Paris and the Venetian are overpriced in your numbers here so if you want high end, go Bellagio.<BR>BUT! depending on when you're going (because you didn't say), you may get a better air/htl package. Compared to package hotel rates, these aren't necessarily great rates! If you have free air, it may be a different story. Go to www.myb.com before you book; they have a great website and specialize in Vegas!

There's only one hotel in Vegas worth staying in; The Four Seasons wins, hands down! <BR><BR>The Bellagio is way overated, worn out carpets, smelly rooms and bad, bad service. <BR><BR>For the perfect Las Vegas experience, stay at The Four Seasons. <BR><BR>

Check out the mandalay bay it has the best combo of restaurants, rooms, wave pool, river raft around the pool. Try doing this: go to hotwire.com, look for a hotel room in LV on the strip. Choose the 5 star option (they mean 5 star when they say it) most likely you will end up in the venetian (I've done this before) I paid $100 per night there this way. Do not pay 279 for a suite a venetian, all their rooms are suites, and can be had for 120 or less.

Unless there is a MAJOR convention in Vegas the time you're going, i would only book a BACK-UP reservation at this time (ie- one that is fully refundable). Prices for Vegas hotel rooms change quicker than the stock prices of the companies that own them, and specials/deals are always popping up, but they usually don't start until 2-3 months before your arrival date.<BR><BR>You have selected a wide selections of hotels, as Bellagio and Flamingo are not in the same class. However, of those choices, i would stay at Flamingo (assuming you are some type of budget). I'd sooner save the money, and do some "extra" things like nice dinners, shows, etc. Personally, in Vegas i look for a "nice" room at a good value, and the Flamingo would be fine with me.

Speaking of overrated, the Four Seasons tops that list in LV. Since the hotel has no casino revenue to profit from, they have to try to extract all their profit from the room rates. What a joke! In LV you can get so much more for your dollar because the 'casino subsidy' keeps room rates down. The rooms at FS are most definitely not better than the nicer hotels up trhe strip like Bellagio and Venetian. <BR>Only stay at the FS if someone else is paying.

We just stayed at Bally's and thought the room was very nice. It was large. The service was fine. We paid $69 per night which included 2 for 1 drinks, 2 for 1 Jubilee show tix, etc. The location is great too.

I agree with William. Classiest place to stay in Las Vegas is The Four Seasons. Bellagio and Venetian are lacking in good service. They laid off way to many service people.

The Mirage, we feel, is the best OVERALL, with location, price, friendliness, VERY good housekeeping, lovely rooms . JUst returned and had a wonderful experience, tho the volcano was not working. Of course the week following Thanksgiving ,the prices were very low compared to many times of the year.

Ditto for the Mirage. Wouldn"t stay anywhere else! Central location, great choice of dining, lovely pool with strawberry daiquiris to die for, pretty room and bathroom and good shops and the casino isn't too depressing or noisy.

I agree!! YES YES! Mirage is the best. You totally get your money's worth. Clean, good eating (although the buffet ain't grand), hotel rooms fab, pool is fab, the tiger habitat and dolphine are cool. OVerall, you just get a lot for your money at Mirage.

Stayed at Mirage in late September and loved it. Great central location for easy access to rest of the Strip. Pool was awesome.
