Valley of Fire - Driving Route
My husband and I are going to Vegas for the first time, and will be taking a day trip to Valley of Fire. We will be taking the direct route of I-15 to get there... is taking the longer route of 167 worth it for the return trip? I wasn't sure if that could be considered a "scenic" route, or if it's just another interstate.

We recently drove 147 to the Valley of Fire, and I can assure you it is a beautiful and very worthwhile drive.
On your way back to Las Vegas on I-15 (or on another day) also visit Red Rock Canyon, which is NW of Las Vegas. It is also quite spectacular. |
167 brings you out along Lake Mead. After you drive through the park from I-15, you come to it. It's worth returning to Las Vegas on 167.

Great. I am glad to hear that it's worth driving the 167 (aka Northshore Road?)back to LV. We will plan on taking that route on our return from VoF!

How long would a drive out up the 15 and out through Valley of Fire, then the 167 back to Vegas take, approximately? No hiking or picnic, maybe just a few scenic photos stops, but just a leisurely drive...........
