Vail--car rental return?

Does anyone know if there are places in Vail where we can easily return a rental car? We will be arriving in Denver, too late for the CME shuttle bus. We thought we might rent a car and drive to Vail, return it the next day. Is this a feasible option?

Thanks in advance.

How long are you staying and how many people are there? You certainly don't need a car in Vail, although it is nice to have one to go to the affordable groceries outside of town. The shuttles are not inexpensive--you might be able to rent a car for a week on Priceline for not much more than the shuttles. That said, I imagine the hotels have some sort of car rental desks. Or the Eagle airport.

We'll be in Vail for about 5 days, but we had thought about just returning the car the day after we arrive, since we know we won't need it while in Vail.

Just trying to figure out if there is a convenient way of doing that without taking up too much of our first day on the slopes.

Thanks.

Just returned from Denver and Vail. We found it cheaper to rent in Denver, drive to Vail and just keep the car while we were there for 4 days, and then return it at the Denver airport. The CME shuttle for both ways was a lot more than a car for 4 days. I agree one doesn't need a car while in Vail but that was cheapest for us. Have fun!

Forgot to mention that the car rentals are all at the Eagle airport. Also, originally we were going to turn in the car the next day. You could do that and then take the CME back to the Denver Airport. Just check to see what is cheaper or what fits what you want.
