Vail,Avon-Colorado

OK guys,
Going to Vail at the end of the month for surgery...so I need to find the most affordable place for lodging that is set up with at least a kitchenette. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Price will dictate where the stay will be.
Thanks again for the update!

Well, this should be interesting since it is high season. How long do you need it for.

Gretchen,
I have a pre op appt on the 27th Surgery on the 28th and I'm hoping to be released from physical therapy on the 31st of Jan or 1st of Feb.

Your right about the high season...I was there in October for 3 weeks...for the 1st part of the surgery...and almost went into shock when I called yesterday for rates!

If I had a choice, I would love to postpone the surgery, but that is not an option!
Thanks for your input!

Good luck with your surgery, Loni. I was there in the way off season and had a great room at the Hotel Tivoli with a nice kitchen. Have you checked vrbo.com ? Here's to a speedy recovery!

Unfortunately it is approaching peak skiing season and it is priced accordingly. The further east you go the better the prices except for some parts of Avon that sits are the foot of Beaver Creek. Can you drive ten to fifteen miles each day? The other issue you will have is the price of parking in Vail. Good luck.

I don't have recent experience but high ski season is still just that--and of course not just for skiiers' lodging but for all the employees who need housing--our kids faced that expensive problem. I hope you can find something. Do I understand it is only for about 4 days? Have you asked your doctor for advice?
