Would like suggestions for summer vacation with two teenagers .... have already done Mexico. Thanks!

Someone already has a similar thread on this. Do a text search on teenagers and you should find it. Some suggestions from the thread were: Chicago, NYC, Washington DC, Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach. Or you might want to consider the Florida Keys. Good luck.

Jackie:

Ask the teens. I am a mom. Half your work will be done.

Get them busy calling around and checking out web sites. Have them report relevant findings to you.

Sit back, relax and then be very proud of what they come up with. If you "trust" us you CERTAINLY trust them.

I sometimes wonder if some of these "open" questions are not posted by market researchers.

Jackie that's just me thinking out loud. Have a great time what ever you decide to do.

Happy Travels
Oaktown

Where do you live and how far do you want to travel? By plane or by car? A suggestion, if you live in the west, might be Alberta. The Tyrell Museum of Paleontology (sp?) and the badlands seem to facinate teenagers. They can actually attend dinosaur digs with some of the world's foremost paleontologists. Closeby is Calgary, Banff, Jasper. And the Cdn. $ is quite low compared to the US $ so it is a bargain right now.

I thought I would try to answer your question since I really love to travel and often do. But since you really didn't give a clue as to what you teenagers enjoy or what type of a trip that you all might like, you've kind of put me on a guessing game. I have no clue what part of the country you are from, and could write paragraphs maybe about your own hometown. How about a little more info for us? U.S.A. or abroad? Beaches, nature or attractions?

Message: First - your ex needs to understand there will be gays in any hotel you choose -- and a few straights in the "gay" hotel. Yes - there are specific gay areas and businesses in SF - but the city is "integrated" so "they" will be everywhere.

Now for the practicalities - Your ex does sound controlling but if he has true joint custody he probably does have some say. So you need to decide which battles are worth fighting. I could see a worst case scenario in which he convinces a family court judge that you are taking your daughter into an unacceptable situation. It isn't, but if a judge says so you could lose. It is well and good for all these folks to tell you to stand up to him - but the ultimate peril is you losing to him.
You need legal advice -- not travel advice
