Vacation rental convenient to San Diego Convention Centre

My daughter and friend are attending a conference at the San Diego Convention Centre in August and want to add a few days to the trip as vacation (10 days in total). Can anyone suggest any short term rental properties that would give them the opportunity to attend the conference without to much difficulty getting there, but also provide a good vacation base to explore San Diego ? Budget would be around $250 per night max and ideally they'd like access to a pool. They would be looking for 2 bedrooms or 1 bedroom plus a sleeper sofa.

Thanks,

Gaynor

...unless someone is renting all the condo high rises near the Convention Ctr isn't much other choice in that area of town...

Could look at Coronado...would have to drive & cross the Coronado bridge tho it would be against most of the commute traffic and pay parking about 8-10 a day at the Convention Ctr. OR could take the Coronado ferry boat to Downtown San Diego and walk to convention ctr...

August is our busiest time of the year and things are pretty much booked up..
You can try maybe the hotelsolamar.com
It is downtown San Diego on 6th close to the convention center and close to everything..
It is a boutique/Kimpton hotel and lovely.. Go direct or try Expedia.com
Also,try Hotellajolla.com or
thegrandecolonial.com both in La Jolla and lovely properties..
$250 might be a tough sell but you never know..
I wish you all the best!

Thanks for all those suggestions. the Hotel Solamar looks great but is coming up way beyond budget. I'll email them and see if they can offer a better rate.
