Vacation June 29th in Colorado Springs-Should I cancel?

I am flying into Colorado Springs via Denver from STL, on Friday and I am worried about the evacuations and the fires. I don't want to get there and have to evacuate or worse have nothing to see because things are shut down. What should we do?

Not really close, I think. Why don't you look.

Fire is close to Colorado Springs but if you are in the city proper I don't think you would have to evacuate. Some things to see may be questionable like Garden of the gods, Cave of the Winds but you might give it another day & see how the containment goes.

Close is relative term. It is closer to CS than to Denver. The worse case would be some problems in the foothills but the city is not going to be evacuated or shut down.

The evacuation order for Manitou Springs (just west of Colorado Springs) was lifted as of this morning.
