vacation destination

I have posted here from time to time, but not for a long time.

I need some suggestions.

We have 3 kids (under 4), and can leave them with grandparents for a few days; about 5 or so. We have not been anywhere for a while.

I thought maybe an all-inclusive in Cancun, and yes we know it is hurricane season in September. We have frequent flyers; a lot of them too.

We are thinking of maybe Bermuda, Cancun, or any other suggestions.

Any ideas are appreciated.

How about Palm Springs or San Diego....not much to worry about in reference to hurricanes.

tinathetoad Jun 10th, 2008 07:02 PM

that is where we were looking at too. San Diego in particular.

We were just there at the beginning of April and had a great time.

Where do you live? For a 5 day trip, I'd maximize the lounging and minimize the travel time. Maybe a direct flight first-class?

Do not take this wrong...... you have 3 kids under the age of 4 and the grandparents are willing to take them for 5 days. GO ANYWHERE!! (We are grandparents, but our grandkidsa are now 12,14,16)

The choices. Cancun (fun and can be a good deal) OR San Diego (always great weather) I'd stay on Coronado Island OR Bermuda (never been there) OR Palm Springs (don't go until next fall or winter because it is hotter than... until then)

The most important part of all of this is that you've got 3 adorable children, but they are all under 4 years of age.... and you have not had a moment when you do not always look aroung wondering were they are what is happening to them. So now, you have the oppertunity to entrust them to grandparents, take a breath and have 4 days with each other.

What a gift.

I'm with Renee, in your situation, I would do a direct flight to ANY island and just relax in the sun, sand and water! We have not been to Costa Rica yet but I hear wonderful things about it.

Just got back from five nights an all inclusive in Cancun and loved it. Take the previous advice on direct flight! We were routed through Mexico City and wasted a day of travel time because of it.

thanks. Although we are in the early stages of planning still, I think that we have decided to do Cancun either in October or November. I think that we are going to do a non- all inclusive, maybe at the Hilton. I don't like the location of the AI that we were looking at.

What about the clubmed in Cancun? it is newly renovated and looks gorgeous. I've always loved clubmeds.

tinathetoad Jun 13th, 2008 05:02 AM

Nothing I even begin to like about Cancun & Bermuda will be mucho $$$. Depends on where you are coming from but what about Key West or if you are worried about hurricanes (I don't see why anyone would worry about events that happen so infrequently) then take a look at Aruba (again, not my cup of tea) but supposedly out of the hurricane zone. Puerto Rico is another great destination & you can likely get there non-stop.

Consider St.Thomas/St.John... Be-ut-ti-ful!!!

tinathetoad Jun 17th, 2008 02:37 PM

we are set on Cancun. We are trying to decide between an All INclusive and regular hotel.

Looking at Dreams, Sun Palace (both AI's) or Hilton Hotel or JW Marriott.

Suggestions?

jayne1973 Jun 17th, 2008 02:53 PM

I was hesitant about the AI, but found it totally relaxing to just eat (and drink) whatever and whenever I wanted. We did get tired of the food by the fifth night and ate somewhere else, but I think the AI concept added to the whole "relax" factor of the trip.
