We've been offered an apartment in this area from Affordable New York agency. Any inputs on location for a week vacation and/or the company? Thanks!

I've done a lot of research for New York short term apartments or holiday rentals, but I've never heard of this company, nor can I find them by googling. Any more details or a website?

I like that area, though. Lots of good restaurants and nice shops. Right at Union Square.

Before making any decision suggest the following:

Post the web site so locals can have a look at it

Get the exact address

Get interior and exterior photos and a specific list of furniture and appliances

Find out what type of building it is (5th foor walk up?) How many apartments are there? Will super or ? know you're there?

Get details on building security: Is it doorman? automatic fobs? just a locked door?

Is there someone on site 24 hours per day in case of a problem? If not - who would you go to if there were an issue with plumbing or heat or ac or ???

Make sure you have a phone number that is live 24/7.

16th between 6th and 7th is a decent area. Along 5th AVenue adn 6th Aveneu there are many stores with more restaurants being on the side streets. It's a short walk to Chelsea, wehre there are tons of restaurants, and lots of art galleries, and also Union Square/Greenwich village area.

Soory if I casued confusion, I meant to say "16th between 5th and 6th" not "16th between 6th and 7th"
