UWS - shopping for teens
We'll be w/ our teen (17, 19) daughters in a couple of weeks in NYC, staying on UWS. (75 & Broadway) We've taken them to 5th Ave and SoHo but are there some good streets/areas in that neck of the woods (UWS) that they might enjoy? We plan to go to the Guggenheim, maybe up to Columbia to see the campus and then Sat nite we will be down in the theatre district for a play.

The entire stretch of Columbus and Amsterdam through the 70s and 80s has pretty good shopping. I'm wracking my brain trying to remember names of places...
If you start down at 72nd and Amsterdam, there is an Olive and Bette's, which is a cute clothing shop that your girls would probably love. At 72nd and B'Way, there's a huge Urban Outfitters, a North Face store, and Sephora.
I have to look up exact addresses, but these are a few a other stores in the neighborhood that are good for teens:
BOC, 84th & Columbus (trendy clothing boutique, expensive)
Montmartre, 78th & B'Way (trendy clothing boutique, expensive)
CPW, 84th & Amsterdam (trendy clothing boutique, expensive)
Town Shop (legendary lingerie store on the UWS known for bra fittings)
Laila Rowe (chain of CHEAP junk jewelry)
Malia Mills (bathing suits)

Hi mclaurie, Yes, we enjoy walking, well at least we do, the teens are less enthusiastic, probably due to the often impractical footwear choices they make. We thought we might try and walk across the park.
