UVA Football Game

Is it any easier to get to and from the football stadium from any certain area? There's a Comfort Inn near Monticello, some Hotels north of town on 29, just wondered if any area will be easier on game day?

It will be jammed. North on 29 is going to be especially bad. Avoid 29 as much as you can.

The stadium location is near what is already a problem traffic area. You could probably approach it quickest from the 29/250 bypass coming from the west as there is a direct exit ramp; on the other hand, there is no corresponding entrance ramp to go back west so you will be stuck in traffic going out.

You could walk to the Stadium from the Cavalier Inn (it's about the same distance as walking form the parking garages):

Depending on how much you walk, you could also walk from the Courtyard by Marriot or Red Roof Inn (a tad over a mile):

Or Red Roof Inn:

You might inquire with these hotels if there are shuttles on game days.

Absolutely there's tailgating! I just thought if you were worried about traffic that you might not be into fighting the outgoing mess after tailgating:

We have friends who are big Hoos and they have primo parking, etc. and they start tailgating about an hour before the game. Also, I went with them to the VT-UVA game last year and they kept commenting on how bad traffic was going in and how they weren't used to it and how everyone was tailgating early (because as many Hokies were there as Hoos).

All joking aside, they always comments on how Blacksburg traffic is worse than Charlottesville on game day and on how early we start tailgating.
