Utah Ski Resorts
Planning an Easter ski trip to Utah, last week in March. We are not skiers but kids, age 14 and 11, have skied a very limited amount. Ideally we would like a family friendly area, with other activities like sleding, ice skating and good youth programs. If you have suggestions I would love to hear from you. Thanks, sls49

Hi sls,
If you want activities in addition to skiing, then Park City is really the place. Are you not going to ski with your kids? You should learn, it's a blast. Anyway, Park City has an full size ice rink (hockey, speed skating, etc.) and a small outdoor rink at the base of Park City Mtn. Resort. The town has plenty of interesting shops and art galleries as well as day spas and gourmet dining for the non-skiers. There is also snowmobiling and sleigh rides, hot air balloons, snowshoeing, and x country skiing too. Several places to sled around town, but sledding at the library is pretty tame, for the little ones. Your whole family will love visiting the Olympic Park where the bobsleds, luge, skeleton and Nordic jumpers practice. You can even try it too! Make your reservations now, as Easter week is very busy. Check out www.parkcityinfo.com for starters. |
Hi Dayle,
Thank you for the info. Do you have any specific recommendations on where to stay? I think we would prefer renting a condo. A resort is fine too. Thank you so much. sls49 |
S,
There are thousands of condos and hundreds of complexes to choose from. Some at the base of Park City Mtn Resort are; Snowflower, Three Kings, Snow King, Shadow Ridge, David hOlland Properties. Then you also have all the condos at Deer Valley and The Canyons to choose from! Check out the web site I recommended, all the property management companies are there. The best piece of advice is: be sure to ask specific questions about the condo - get an exact map of the location, and dates of renovation. Very important as condos are individually owned and maintained. One property at the base of PCMR si the Marriott Mountainside - a newer condo hotel that is very nice. Free shuttles buses take you everywhere, but some people prefer ski in / ski out type properties. |
I second the Park City recommendation. For all the reasons listed by Dayle.
