Utah National Parks in April??
What weather might we encounter in the southern Utah National parks in early to mid April? Or is fall a better choice?

Go to the National Park Service website nps.gov and click on Utah. (This link will take you directly to Utah's page) http://www.nps.gov/state/ut/
The weather is pretty variable between parks so you'll have to check out whichever parks you are most interested in. Click on the individual park, go to Plan Your Visit and there will either be a direct link to a weather page, or you'll have to click on the Things to Know Before You Come link (which will take you to a weather page). There you will find a table of weather averages for every month, which is going to be a lot more accurate than various people telling you the weather is nice or kind of warm or worse, telling you what the temperature was when they visited 2 years ago. |
While you're checking things out, check out how much day light you have at the time you want to go. If you call October or November fall, the days will be shorter than they are in April and a half hour of extra hiking, viewing might make April more desirable.
