Utah

Hi
Flying in and out of Las Vegas.
Planning to go to Bryce, Zion, Arches, Colorado Springs, Mesa Verde and Monument Valley.
Need help in deciding how many days to spend in each location.
Suggestions for any thing else would be appreciated.
Have 12 days for this leg of the holiday.

Thank you in advance

Colorado Springs is the flyer on this route.
If you want to get into Colorado, try Grand Junction or maybe Glenwood Springs.
Along your route from Bryce to Arches see Capitol Reef NP and Goblin Valley State Park.
What month are you planning to take this trip?
On the return to Las Vegas Plan on seeing Hoover Dam if you don't have enough time to see the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.

Yes, why CO Springs? It doesn't fit with this trip.

We did a trip to the area in June - our itinerary was fly into Vegas/Page AZ/Mesa Verde CO/Moab UT/ fly out of Salt Lake City. Total driving miles were 1606 (yes, we took a photo of the rental car tripometer lol).

The Page to Mesa Verde allows for a great drive through Monument Valley and a stop at the four corners.

However, I have to agree with the above - if I had to do over I would not have put Colorado into the trip. We had 12 days, and only were able to spend 1 at Colorado. Every other part of the trip worked out beautifully, but that's the change I would make.

To really answer your question we need answers to the questions Tom posed. Ours was a family trip with a 12 and 13 yo so we were interested in sightseeing, adventure activities, and easy to moderate hikes only. So it depends on your interests and what you're trying to accomplish. Moab was our favorite destination by far (Arches, Canyonlands NP's plus ATV riding, whitewater rafting, hells revenge hummer tour). If you're into adventure stuff you need to give yourself proper time in Moab. If not, you just need time to do your hikes that you want in the NP's there.

Not sure I helped but definitely give additional details. This forum is full of a lot of helpful info and people.

As others have noted, Colorado Springs is a long drive from any of your other destinations.

When we visited Mesa Verde, I was surprised I long it took to get in and out and how time consuming it was to explore.

When are you planning this trip? It makes a difference in planning.

tadbuch, you still haven't explained why you are adding Colorado Springs to this trip. It will be about 6 hours to drive there from say Mesa Verde and another 6 hours to get back. If you spend a day there, that means your 12 days is down to 9.

If you could do an open jaw, say fly into Denver or Colorado Springs, then go to Mesa Verde, Arches (I would see Canyonlands while in the area too) , Bryce, Zion and fly out of Vegas you might have a slightly easier trip. Do expect a drop off charge for the car if you do this though.

If you drop the CO Springs site, then a loop from Vegas would be much easier.
