Using quickbook.com for NYC

I've searched for prices for the Michelangelo in June. Their own website says they have a lowest rate guarantee of $425. The other sites I've used before (orbitz, expedia, etc.)offer it for about that rate or list it as unavailable. However quickbook.com offers it for around $300. I have no experience with quickbook. Any advice and/or insights would be appreciated.

There was a recent thread that covered this exact subject. Do a search. Book the quikbook. Call the Michelangelo before you leave to make sure they have your reservation.

I have used quikbook dozens of times, great, never had a problem. Often have the same experience as you with much lower rates than the hotel itself.

Sometimes, Quikbook is amazing for rates and availability (type of room). I've never had a problem with a reservation.

I've also learned that just because Orbitz, Expedia, etc., list a hotel as "Unavailable for those Dates" does NOT mean that the hotel is fully booked.

My recommendation would be to book with Quikbook, especially if you can cancel, and keep shopping. Once in a while, rooms are "released" at various resources, including the hotel's website, a few days, a week, two weeks before your arrival date.

But, all bets are off for NYC lately, where fill rates continued to increase.

Thanks for the input. We'll go ahead and book.

Yes, do go ahead and book - Quikbook is reliable and safe. My cousin just booked for Easter week and Quikbook had better rates then many other sites. He was booking multiple rooms so decided to call Quikbook and book via phone, and then he later confirmed directly with the hotel - all was in order.
