Moonstruck Patisserie - Hilo ~ wow!!
You are in Hawaii, you are soaking in the sun and sea; eating lots of fish when suddenly you are needing something sweet and you have consumed all the malasadas you can eat. What to do, what to do??
Luckily if you are in Hilo on the Big Island, your search is over! Moonstruck Patisserie!
We happened upon this wonderful little spot, just a block or so from the main drag in downtown Hilo. We had sweet pastries for a mid morning snack and took home some savory ones for lunch. They were all delish! I had a frangipani croissant that was filled with a lovely almond flavored pastry cream and the croissant was perfectly light, airy and flaky. Hubby had a triple berry tart that was also perfectly prepared. Fresh, french press coffee completed our snack. Our take home was a curried beef turnover and a quiche florentine. Again, these were top notch with buttery crusts and wonderfully tasty fillings. Take a moment to find you way here, you won't be sorry!
I will do more restaurant write ups in my trip report but wanted to get this out there for those heading that way soon.

Deb,
Thank you so much for your feedback. We're glad that you enjoyed yourself so much. Yes, we do have macaroons, but not as a regular item. Please contact me at 808-933-6868 to place an order or to inquire when macaroons will show up in our case again.

We stumbled upon Moonstruck Patisserie whilst visiting the Hilo markets. We were a large group of 12 so it was a bit squishy dinning in for a quick breakfast but the food was excellent even the kids enjoyed it.
