I live in Houston and can find many British foods in several local grocery stores. During the winter months several friends in the UK and I exchange "care packages". They send me Malteasers and Winegums, and I send them Old El Paso Taco shells and other TexMex foods they miss. Years ago, there was a Taco Bell around Picadilly Circus. That's where my son always wanted to celebrate birthdays. It was there in 1987, and we left in 1988 to a new posting here in the states. I go back several times a year on business, but have never seen another Taco Bell.

thanks for the replies, especially the kind and helpful ones! I ended up with dish towels with NYC skyline themes and aprons with the same theme (as they love to cook). I saw some beautiful fridge magnets (Tiffany Dome Magnets) in the Metropolitan museum gift shop, but will save that idea for another time. I kind of abandonded the whole idea of any kind of food, it seems it will easier to travel with these non perishable items.
