US AIRWAYS MILES ???

I am sitting with lots of FF miles and wondering what to do since I cannot travel until next spring...I saw a Points.Com site but not sure what they do and how it works. I am really concerned about USAIR and open for suggestions..

Might suggest you do a search. This was covered in a long thread a week or so ago. Several USAir FF had some good suggestions/warnings.

I also suggest a search...many postings on this topic, also on the Europe board. If you cannot travel until next spring you could attempt to book a ticket and hope they are still in business. Most likely other airlines are not going to be accepting USAirways miles.

Look into USAir's "Star Alliance" - airline partners who will honor USAir miles. We just booked a trip to Vancouver via Air Canada for next June.

I recently booked a trip to Europe using USAirways FF miles..booked the tickets on a partner airline without problem for next August.

Be aware that the "rule" specifying that other airlines must honor the tickets issued by an airline that has liquidated (no, not in bankruptcy protection but actual dissolution) is due to expire in November. AND the other airlines are only "required" to honor those tickets on a space available basis.

Once you've been issued a ticket by a partner airline the usual contract for carriage goes into effect which would not be imperiled if USAirways does, in fact, liquidate.
