us air frequent flyer miles

Has anyone cashed in frequent flyer miles with us air ? I am concerned that they may not honor them much longer! Do you know how many miles to get a free flight? Thanks, Jane

Go to www.usairways.com.

They expect to be out of bankruptcy by next year. Why would they want to alienate the frequent flyers by not honoring the miles?

Hi Jane, I would have to agree with you and use your usair miles now. What are the chances they can get out of trouble now. They have been in trouble long before 9/11, unless they can tighten the ship.

I have used USAirways FF miles many times and have never had a problem with getting the dates and times I wanted, but I have always planned ahead and never waited until the last minute. The number of miles required depends on the time of year...and whether the destination is within the lower 48 states. Minimum for Fall and Winter travel in continent = 20,000 last time I checked. Other times of year = 25,000.

Thanks for your help. Jane

One thing I forgot to say, Jane: If you are close to the mileage requirement, you can purchase additional miles. I think it is two cents per mile, so if you need several thousand miles...might be too costly...but something to think about especially if you only need a few.
