East or West Side and close to where (60s, 90s)? Any particular kind of food?

If on the East Side, either Orsay or Payard. Bot are practically across the street from one another on Lexington in the low 70's. For food, Orsay gets the nod, Payard for dessert.

If you are talking about NYC, how about the Boat House Cafe in Central Park?

Attached is a very helpful link pertaining to NYC restaurants. I enjoy Virgil's BBQ, located :
152 W. 44th St. (east of Broadway), Manhattan; (212) 921-9494.
View this link, I think it will be of some help.

Rue 57 on W. 57 St./6th Ave. is very good, but it's a bit noisy. Trattoria del Arte on 7th Ave. is also very nice.

Isabella's, on Columbus at 77th Street, behing the American Museum of Natural History. Great food, great atmosphere, great area.

By the way, "uptown" generally means above 59th Street. Is this the area you're referring to? If so, several of the above suggestions are not uptown but midtown or Times Square.
