Upscale South Beach Miami Hotel
Hi,
Can anyone recommend a hotel for a couple celebrating a 40th anniversary in South Beach? They want to be where the action is but they are more mature of course and so they are looking for something upscale for a couple of nights. 4 star or 5 star okay but cleanliness and freshness is important. Boutique or large not extremely important but something unique would be nice. Oceanfront preferable but not manadatory. Location of Ritz-Carlton looks very good at Lincoln Road so something not too far from there. Thanks for assistance! |
I would recommend The National. I was there last April and LOVED it. Great spot and walkable to Lincoln Road. They have the best pool area in South Beach.
|
Why NOT the Ritz Carlton?? Very clean.very fresh, pretty UC if you ask me..All that art work that Mrs. Lowenstein has on exhibit...Makes the 5-Star Hotel feel like its got a musem attached to it..

Not in this order but here is a list of the best hotels in South Beach. All $500+ per night.
The Victor The Tides The Ritz-Carlton The Shore Club The Setai |
Thank you for this info. I've had a lot of fun looking at the amazing websites (Victor and Setai especially)for these places and now wish I could go myself!
|
The Setai is just amazing. We stayed next door at the dismal Days Inn and just drooled over the place. Their pool area is unreal. Not one but three infinity pools and an outdoor restaurant and bar in the middle of it all. It isn't your average restaurant bar either.
In their area of the beach (we were the country hicks on plastic chairs next to their beach area) they have a tractor groom the sand into a pattern every morning. Their chairs are teak wood, double chaises with very thick white cushions. Plush sofas on the beach arranged into cozy seating areas and a kick ass tiki bar (no grass hut) made out of the same teak wood. Big huge oversized white umbrellas. The hut had electricity! Go figure. |
We loved the Lowes. Great location in between Lincoln Road and crazy south beach, right on the ocean. Sometimes you can get good rates on their website. And their Emeril's restaurant would be a wonderful dinner for your anniversary. We had a wonderful meal there.
|
We stayed at the Tides several years ago and loved it. Wonderful large rooms with telescopes for spying on folks on the beach! Sadly, it was rainy when we were there, so we didn't see anything juicy.

I live in Miami Beach, and frankly the Setai is in a class of its own. It is a beautiful place. The food is excellent the Chef is great, everything is awsome, the pools , the bar, everything. It is probably more expensive too.
But again it is in a class of its own. |
I stayed at the Lowes as a hurricane refugee last summer (as they allow dogs) and loved it. Lovely pool area. Nice beach. And all of those cute puppies to coo over (should that be your thing!)
