Upscale Restaurants in Mount Pleasant, SC
Looking for options for dinner for an upcoming week at Isle of Palms. Not really familiar with what Mount Pleasant has to offer, but understand there are some good places there. Not interested in fried seafood type joints. Anyone have any info on Red Drum or the Old Village Post House? Or other recommendations? Thanks.

See BetsyinKY's trip report for the Old Village Post House. It's a Maverick Group restaurant as are Slightly North of Broad and High Cotton, which are both great. I'm sure you can't go wrong there!

I haven't eaten at the Red Drum (although I've heard good things), but I've been to the Old Village Post House twice and greatly enjoyed it both times. My most recent trip was just last week and we had an excellent meal, with very good service. I had a cornflake encrusted halibut with a warm three bean salad (basically a fancy succotash, but very good), my sister and dad had excellent shrimp and grits, my husband had a steak that was beyond perfection, and my brother-in-law had a very well prepared swordfish. The Charleston area has many great restaurants, but the Old Village Post House has worked its way onto my "must go back" list.

Great. Thanks for the recommendation.

I've also eaten at Old Village Post House and it's excellent. The atmosphere is laid back for a fine dining restaurant. We shared the cheese sampler to start and I had the blue cheese new york strip. It was fantastic.

Brian,
Mt Pleasant does have some great restaurants. One you should consider is the Mustard Seed. I have only visited for lunch, but I imagine dinner would be even better. It's casual/nice as far as decor; wait staff is very good; and the food is very creative. |
