Upcoming Trip To Houston, Galveston, and Arlington
I am in need of some help for our upcoming trip to Texas. First of all, I'd love a recommendation for a decent casual place to eat near IAH for lunch. We will be arriving around 11 a.m., and since we will have been up since around 4 a.m., I know we'll be hungry. Secondly, do you have any suggestions for interesting places to stop between Galveston and Arlington? We have a 4-year-old and I'm sure we will need to break up the drive. Perhaps a place to eat in that stretch as well. Thanks for your help!

I like anything Pappa's They are a chain, but don't really have that Chain feel to them.
Pappadeax(even one in the airport). This is cajun type
There is Pappasito's-Mexican
Pappa's Steaks--expensive but really good
Pappa's BBQ
Pappa's Burgers
You will see them in several places in Texas
I hope you are going to the Schlitterbahn with your 4 year old.

Jimmy G's is a Cajun seafood restaurant just off the Greenspoint exit from Beltway 8 just before I 45 N. only 5 minutes from IAH.
One of Houston's best seafood destinations. The best grilled oysters. Fine gumbo. Superb Po'boys, Jumbalaya, crawfish, and shrimp anyway you can imagine.
Don't miss it.
