Up to date quarantine question for arriving in new york state.

I am a resident of Arizona and flying into JFK on March 27th. I will have a covid test on day 4 after my arrival. I will be quarantining at my daughter’s house until April1st at which time I will be taking a covid test and want to move into my apartment on April1st. Until I get my test results back I will continue to quarantine. My question is will NY allow you to quarantine in 2 different locations ie. My daughter’s home and then my apartment.
Note: neither location is within NYC.
My internet search has been confusing. I believe there is only a 3 day quarantine in effect and not 10.
thanks for any help.

Yes, you can move to a different location. We've had business travelers do just that several times.

Also, if you DON'T get the test then the requirement is to quarantine for 10days.

By getting the tests (two of them)
a) within 3d of arrival, AND
b) on day 4 (4/1), you are testing out of the mandatory 10d quarantine.

Rapid tests have become more widely available, with results in 15min. These can be found at urgent care clinics and some pharmacies, depending on the location.

Here is the definitive NY State site.

NY also just announced on Wed 3/3 that if you are fully vaccinated you also do NOT have to quarantine upon arrival.

That new guidance is not yet included in the State website.

Be aware that you DO need to fill out a traveler form before or upon arrival in NY. If you are arriving at an airport in NY State there may be health officials verifying that you've done so. A my local airport that spot check has been hit or miss, but the requirement is there regardless of whether anyone is watching. The form is currently required even if you are fully vaccinated.
