Universal w/3 yr. old in Jan.07

Hi Everyone - Happy Holidays - was looking for info. from anyone who has done the pk recently with a 3 yr old - attractions, in's and outs, do's and don'ts, etc. Also, if anyone can offer info on weather in Late Jan, that would be a plus too! Thanks

California or Florida???

I specifically didn't do Universal with our two kids (4 and 3) last summer because when I checked height restrictions, there were very few things my daughter could do other than Dr. Suess rides.

I might suggest you check their website to look at height requirements.

BTW, I think it is a great park. I didn't think it was worth the cost until my kids are older.

I might suggest SeaWorld if you haven't already planned for it. Our son would probably want to go there before Disney if given a choice.

to schmerl: I'm interested in the Florida Universal?

To others who responded - I thought that at least 1/4 of the park would be for my daughter from the items I read. Did I misread something? Is there really NOTHING at all for my 3 yr old there. Do I really have to do the magic kingdom again?

In my own opinion, I think a 7 or 8 year old is about as young an age to enjoy Universal.

I agree with the others. I have been to Universal many times and I think the parks are better suited to kids older than three.

Don't give up so easily! This could be a great day. Skip Islands of Adventure, thatis for older kids. But at Universal, you can enly Shrek 4-D (a movie event), ET and the kidzone area. Bring some clothes for your 3 yo and at least one adult that can get wet as there are water features in the kidzone. The Barney show is sure to be a big hit.
Universal does a good job with "baby swap" so you and your spouse can ride some of the bigger rides.
I'm sure you know that staying on property gives you a front of the line pass. That's a big help!
The weather could be warm or chilly, dry or wet. You'll want to plan for layers.

I agree with keymom, but I wouldn't totally rule out Islands of Adventure either. They have the Suess Landing area which is adorable and very suited to three year olds. My niece and nephew live in FL and have been going to Universal since they were two years old. They have always found things to do. I also think they would like Toon Lagoon and the other areas. There is so much more to Universal than just the big coasters.
