Universal studios with 4 & 5 yr. olds

Taking a family trip the end of March to Orlando. Looking at going to Universal Studios for 3 days. I know there are some great coasters and rides for adults, just need to know if therre is enogh to do for
a 4 yr old and a 5 yr old. Thanks

Universal Studios is great for both
kids and adults. 3 days sounds like
way too much though. I haven't been
to Islands of Adventure, but I heard
it was all roller coasters. Try getting
more info from wdwig.com or wdwinfo.com.

Hi Robin,
We took our sons to Universal for the first time when they were 4 and 6. We spent one day there. This was before IOA. We enjoyed Universal Studios, the kids especially liked the Nickelodeon tour. They sat in an audience for a taping of a show.
They also liked the Beetlejuice & Ghostbusters shows (don't even know if they still show Ghostbusters!), and Feifel's playground was a huge hit. Anyway, in my opinion, between IOA & Universal, you could spend 2 days.
You don't say if you plan on being at Disney. I'd spend that third day adding onto Disney or go to Sea World.
Gotta also mention: went back with sons who are now 13 & 15 to IOA & Universal. Stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel. This was their best vacation! Spent an entire week at IOA, Universal, did go to Sea World one day and also went to a water park for a day ~but every night we went back to IOA.
I think older kids really appreciate IOA & Universal. IOA has the themed portion Toon Lagoon that younger kids really enjoy.
I've always purchased guide books for Universal, Disney & Sea World. All the hints and info they provide make them so worth the money.
No matter how long you're there, you'll have a great time!

We took our 2 1/2 and 5 year old boys to Universal last fall. It was terrific. The 5 year old spent hours in Feifel's playgound - just remember to pack bathing suits, towels and water shoes. He also enjoyed ET's ride and an animal show (I think it was Animal Planet, but I'm not 100% sure). Our younger son loved the Barney show. I know your kids are probably too old for Barney, but it was a great show and they have a neat playground for the kids to run around in before and after the show. Even my 5 year old liked Barney's playgound. There is also a roller coaster in this general area.

One of the things that I really liked about Universal (other than all of the Nickelodeon characters walking around), was that most of the attractions for the 2 - 5/6 year old crowd are in the same general area. Unlike Disney, which was very spread out.

I believe 3 days may be a bit too long, however 2 days sounds great. We only went for one day and I can't wait to go back.

Islands of Adventure is NOT all coasters. There is a lot for young children to do at both parks. Go to
www.disboards.com and scroll down to the Universal forum. They have a thread dedicated to what young children can do at the parks.
