Where is the best place to buy tickets for universal studios florida. Also best place to stay for 3 nights.

The best place to stay is at one of the on-property hotels. These will give you front of the line privileges and will make the stay much more enjoyable. Even if you can stay only one night on property, you'll be able to get the FOTL privileges for a big part of your stay. Check out mousesavers.com for money saving information.

Go to www.disboards.com and scroll to the Universal Forums. Lots of advice on all the attractions and discounts. Definitely stay on site for the front of the line access on the attractions. You can go to Universal's website for tickets. They have been offering a five day bonus pass. It costs the same as a two day ticket and is good for five consecutive days from the first day of use. Even if you don't use all five days, it's a great buy. The disboards has a link that tells about a Kraft special on these tickets. All the Universal hotels are Loew's hotels and are wonderful. They are all within walking discounts to the parks and City Walk. It's so convenient to get around at Universal.

A few years ago (things may have changed) the best place was at the (official) Visitors' Center on International Drive to get Universal Studio tickets. If all you're going to do is Universal Studio, but not Disney stuff, and saving money is important, than there are plenty of hotels/motels on, or near International Drive. Free shuttle services pickup/dropoff at many hotels - walk to one if there's no stop near yours -- and the "I-Drive Trolley" cost about $1 day for unlimited use. I never used my rental car 3 of the 4 days I was in the area. The trolley didn't go directly to Universal, but close enough to walk. If you can afford the on-site hotels, the front of line privileges may be worthwhile to you. I'm sure dining OUTSIDE Universal Studios will cost a lot less then within.

Hey rb_traveler - how far was the walk from the itrolley stop to Universal Studios?

We are considering staying at Universal Studios (because I want to visit the park) but my husband is going to a conference at the Convention Center, so we are trying to figure out how difficult of a walk it would be for him to catch the trolley from the hotel-Universal Studios area. He runs 5-10 miles on a regular basis, so we are more concerned about proper sidewalks and pedestrian-friendly routes rather than length of walk. Thanks in advance for any input.
