Universal Studio Theme Park-CA

I started am earlier thread about this park, and might have not gotten to the real point of the thread. What are the really must do/see rides? Thanks for your help!

Your other thread you started this morning is alive. You had two replies so far, last one at 2:19 pm. You can send your thread you started this morning "to the top" of all the other threads by just posting yourself on it. No need to start the exact same thread again a few hours later. The weekends are slow around here and you may not get as many posts as you would on a weekday.

Hi emd,
The reason I wrote an additional thread, is that I commented on the fact that two of the people were senior and disabled. The responses on the original thread were more to that part of the thread, than just the bottom line-rides.

Again, they may have changed attractions since I was there, but the favorite ones in my family were Jurassic Park and The Terminator 3D film. Truthfully though, there are no must see/do attractions there. We had been to Disneyland and Six Flags Magic Mountain on the same trip, and Universal Studios was a let down in comparison. IMO, the best attraction around Universal is City Walk, the pedestrian mall outside the front gates.

Ok, no one has mentioend it yet but without a doubt, hands down, the ET Ride is the best for us. Riding a bicycle through the air on ET's adventure brought an immense smile to my face. It was a rainy quiet day and my son (11 at the time) and I rode it like 10 times in a row. I won't spoil your surprise at the end.

The ET ride has now gone, and has been replaced with the Mummy ride which should be open now.

Back to the Future is a great ride. Jurassic Park is OK and worth doing.

Make sure you do the studio tram ride and the backdraft experience.

Waterworld and Shrek shows are also worth catching.

I can't believe they closed ET (esp. for the Mummy). A loss of a classic ride. It was as classic as Peter Pan's Flight at Disney IMO.
Back to the Future was the most disturbing ride I've ever done, it was so jerky. I do have problems w/motion simulation and kept my eyes closed, but the intense jerking was an abuse on the body for me...everyone is different, even regarding theme park rides adn you have to keep that in mind when asking for recommendations like this...

Totally agree regarding the Back to the Future Ride - You must like getting thrown about otherwise you will hate it.
