Hello! I'm planning a trip for a family of 5 (14,14,11 yr old boys) and I was thinking of spending 3 days at Universal for Harry Potter and then 2 days for Star Wars in the beginning of June 2022. This is our first time and we plan to stay onsite probably at Lowes Royal Pacific. For the Disney, I'm unsure where to stay. Where would you recommend staying if all you were interested in at Disney was Star Wars? The new star wars hotel is not an option either. Would you recommend doing the 3 days at Universal first and then 2 days at Disney? Or Vice Versa? Any other tips to consider for this type of adventure? Thank You! I haven't been there for many years so I don't know if Universal still offers the perk of going to the express line if you stay on site. If so, go there second because you will be spoiled if you go there first and then have to wait at Disney.
We enjoyed the Royal Pacific very much. You can walk to the parks from there or take the boat or bus if you are very tired.

Take one day and visit Warner Bros studios where they actually still make movies (Universal is really a theme park). Small group tours, about 12-16 vs a giant tram like Universal. Sorry can't help with Disney Star Wars, IMO they should have stopped after the third movie.

I think this is a great combo for the boy's ages. We did Universal recently when our son was 8 and 12 and had no problem doing everything we wanted to do as many times as we wanted in 2 full days and probably could have been done the second trip in one. Universal is not that big and many of the rides/activities are not going to appeal to older boys, so if you have express pass access (and I'm assuming you do at the Royal Pacific) I think you may find 3 full days too much.

Have not been to the new Star Wars stuff at Disney but we did spend a day at Hollywood Studios before it was redone and had a great time - was our favorite park and I imagine it's even better now.

If Star Wars and/or Epcot are your focus try and stay at one of the Epcot resorts. You can walk or boat to either in minutes. If the Boardwalk, Yacht Club, or Beach Club are too pricey take a look at the the Swan or Dolphin. We got a great rate at the Dolphin one year and have seen the Swan with good rates at times as well.
