Here's the 2011 edition of our local newspaper's annual Dining Guide. Lots of good ideas which haven't been mentioned yet.

Barbara or anyone else

have you tried the newly opened BO*beau in OB?

Barbara Nov 10th, 2011 03:59 PM

I have not, sorry.

SOCALOC Nov 10th, 2011 04:23 PM

Thanks Barbara!
Reviews are favorable and it sounds like a fun spot for a casual night out.

Bill H - Thanks for the info re Open Table reviews, I have used them to make reservations, but never checked their reviews. Will do so in the future. And I am a big fan of Jean George and Daniel Boulud, and the French Laundry, but thought Keller's other place - Per Se in NYC - puts it in on just a bit thick.

And Barbara: Ditto thanks - and I do check the Union Tribune's review and also like San Diego Magazine's annual reviews. see: http://www.sandiegomagazine.com/medi...gazine/Dining/

And Socaloc: LOL. :)

And please don't get me wrong: Addison is a top notch restaurant, and I went there for the one of the grand openings when Doug Manchester first built the Grand Del Mar Hotel - and had the H'or D'oeuvres - as I have a few other times when there for meetings, and they were very good. (cooked by the same kitchen)

Now I for sure have to go there for a full dinner one of these times. :)

And as for the new BO'Beau in OB. Isn't that in the old Tres Bungelow site? Or across the street? Opened by - oh fooey - good old what's his name. He is from Lyon I think. Last opened Boheme (or close name) in Kensington was it?

Ahh yes. Here it is: Philip Beltran, and I think the Cohn group will run it. He was married to my old aerobics/spin class instructor. :)

Oops. I don't mean she was old - but it's been a few years since she kicked my buxx in her classes. :)

Barbara, funny that they mention Tacos El Gordo. I love them but NC is a long way to go.

Be sure to grab some great fish and seafood at Point Loma Seafood!

LSky, NC = Nasty City? Haha! It's not all that far from downtown.
