Union Station
Can anyone reccommend any affordable hotels near union station or realistically accessible by metro? Thank You.

Union Station in St. Louis?
|
Los Angeles?

I thought I was posting in Washington D.C. section. Sorry. Union Station in Washington D.C.
|
hi meadow, even if you post under the Washington DC section, it shows up on the composite list of all sections. It's always a good idea to put the city/state in the title of the post to get more responses. Happy posting!

What is affordable? Are you arriving by train or departing by train? Where are you coming from, or going? How much time will you have?
|
I plan to stay one night on 22, and one night on the 28th. Affordable is $70/night. I'm coming from Union Station going to Dulles. Thanks

do Priceline for the capital area - we got the three star Hyatt which was a block away from Union station - $55/night

Ditto to the above message. Go to biddingfortravel.com to get guidance on how to bid for that area.

There is a Red Roof Inn "spitting distance" from Gallery Place/Chinatown, just 2 Metro stops away from Union. I've found rooms at the RR website for as little as %55. It's a former hi-rise Comfort Inn, and a nice place.
Since you're going to Dulles, consider hotels near the Rosslyn Metro stop. Hyatt (Arlington) is the closest, and sometimes has rooms near $70. Just down the street are Holiday Inn & Best Western. There's a Marriott (Courtyard?) also nearby. One of my favorite "burb" hotels, Quality Inn Iwo Jima is about 0.4 mi away; safe & walkable if you don't have much luggage & it's "rolling" bags. Rosslyn is on the Blue and Orange lines. The Orange takes you to the closest Metro stops to IAD. Also the #5A Metrobus, which goes to IAD, leaves from both L'Enfant Plaza & Rosslyn stations. Other than Priceline, I don't know if you'll get many hotels in DC at your desired pricerange. Good Luck. |
