The Union Plaza is located at the far end of the downtown strip. I have been in the casino there but, have never seen a room. It is an older hotel and to my knowledge has had no remodeling. The only place my wife (very picky) will stay downtown is the Golden Nugget. It is more centrally located on the downtown strip and is as nice as anything on the L.V. strip, just a smaller scale. The rooms have all been remodeled now. There are always great package deals there as well. If you are going to gamble, downtown is the place to stay, you are close to a bunch of different casino's all within a few feet of each other! If you are not going to gamble, go to Florida or someplace nice. Whatever you do don't stay at crappy hotel to save a buck in Vegas. For , literally, a few dollars more you can stay at a truely nice hotel. Have fun and say hello to my money!!! E-mail if you have other Vegas Q's!!!
