Under 21 in hotel
 

Im 20 and im interested in staying in a hotel on a little road trip. Every place ive looked says a person must be 21 or older to book a room. There must be some way around this. Any help would be much apperciated.

Have you contacted the hotels directly?

Somtimes if you call and they realize you're a responsible person, will be alone - and not hosting a raucous party - and have a solid credit card with a decent limit they'll make an exception. But - do expect then to put an extra high "hold" on your card until you've checked out.

do they ask for ages on Orbitz, Priceline, etc., if you have a CC?

im trying to go to boston on the forth. Gift for my girl friend i havent called the hotels directly. They require ID when you check in. thanks for the responses

If you book online and have paid for the hotel already you should be able to solve the problem.

We have a fair amount of experience with this with our son. Most hotels do have a rule about those under 21 staying without parent or guardian. (Even if one of you is 21, you will still encounter this rule.)

This is sometimes enforced at check-in and sometimes not. He has friends who have been turned away at check-in, regardless of whether room is prepaid or not. A friend of mine recently had problems with her daughter after she missed a flight connection and could not find a hotel to take her until her mother gave them the mother's credit card with a "security" balance (this was in Philadelphia)

However, at times they will not enforce it. May depend on desk person. Most hotels I have checked into recently do ask for ID along with credit card, so they do have a way of knowing your age.

Many people under age 21 do manage to travel and get hotel rooms. I am not sure how they do that, but I suspect it has to do with how "presentable" you look at check in, even in less expensive hotels.

So I know of no way you can for certain get a hotel room in Boston, no matter how you book it.

The hotels I worked at need photo id to check in with so I see no way you can get around this except to find a hotel that only requires you to be 18 to check in.

The more expensive the hotel, the better chance you have.

And the better dressed you are.

If you look like you have come to party and plan to invite your friends to join you for a little beer blast as soon as you get the key, I can pretty well guarantee you will be sleeping in your car, unless you are in some place like Myrtle Beach or Panama City that expects this at certain times of the year.

No hotels in Myrtle Beach allow 18 year olds to check in.

nasty....The Hilton in Woburn has a minimum check in age of 18.....

Perfect I would have liked a hotel in boston but Woburn isnt to far.
