Uncrowded beach destination
Looking for an uncrowded beach destination in NC for my older parents. Not at all interested in shopping or nightlife. Just want a nice quiet beach with maybe some fishing and perhaps a decent restaurant nearby. Nothing fancy required. Basic amenities are fine. Would likely be traveling in June.
Thanks! |
The first twelve or so days of June will be less crowded but not uncrowded. After that, you'll have trouble finding an uncrowded beach.
Anything after Labor Day (if you want to wait that long) will be uncrowded. |
Ocean Isle Beach or Sunset in NC would be wonderful. Let me suggest Litchfield Beach in SC at Pawley's Island. The SC beaches are often closer to towns in NC than those in NC. Look at Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort website. Beach is very quiet, you can surf fish, and the best seafood restaurants on the SC coast are just to the north in Murrell's Inlet.

Topsail Island, NC, preferably Topsail Beach, at the south end of the barrier island. I've vacationed there for 35 years and it is never crowded.
|
Any of them except Atlantic, and the Wilmington area (Wrightsville) are uncrowded relative to Myrtle Beach. I like Holden, Ocean Isle, Sunset, Corolla, Duck, and Topsail. June is a good time to go.

My family and I are going to Topsail 5-12 June and expect a great time. I am anxious. By the way, ocean temperature will be seventy by June and maybe a tad warmer.
|
Bald Head Island off the coast of Wilmington is wonderful and never too crowded

Tupsail, Surf City. But please don't tell too many people.

When I was a kid, we went to a little town called Long Beach, NC with my cousins. My cousins still go there because of the uncrowdedness. A few years ago Hurricane Floyd hit it pretty bad but everything has been rebuilt now.
