Two-week driving trip ideas?

I'd like to divide up the US (and perhaps Canada) into a series of 10 day to two week driving vacations. We would fly out to a certain part of the country, rent a car and go! What I'd like to know is if there is any books or websites that could have some trips/itineraries made up. That way I don't have to reinvent the wheel. Any ideas?

The problem with premade itineraries is they might not have everything you like and miss places you would like. I think I'd be more open to making my own with help from others. Do you have an idea of which states you would like to visit?

Here are some websites that may or maynot be helpful.

Hello

What I sometimes do is go to my local travel agent and ask for escorted tours or bus trips in the United States..I know you are driving, but these brochures give you some ideas about where to go and how long you should stay in each place. Some good ones are Tauck Tours, Cosmos Tours and Caravan tours..They will even tell you what hotels they use.
